1982 a plant for hand knitting yarns has been built.
Its maximum annual capacity is 3600 tons of worsted yarns and 550 tons of semi-worsted yarns at three shift working schedule.
VELBUJD AD employs 900 workers and 32 university educated specialists in engineering and economics.
Since 2001 VELBUJD AD is 96.6% private enterprise with main owner Velbujd-Style AD.

VELBUJD
AD is a producer of yarns for machine and hand knitting of 100% acrylics and
its blends with wool, flax, alpaca, mohair, polyamid, polyester, viscose,
etc. It produces also weaving yarns, as well as worsted tops.
70% of its production is intended for export to Central, East and West Europe, the Balkans and Asia.
VELBUJD AD has started its regular operation in 1969 with installed capacity of 20 000 spindles. In 1972 the spinning capacity has been expanded by 15 000 spindles more. The dyeing equipment has been installed successively in 1972, 1978, and 1994.
